Glassworks is extremely proud to welcome Olaia Casal to the team as Head of Production. Her ambitious mindset, along with her extensive experience in VFX production and in the advertising industry, will prove a tremendous asset for the Barcelona branch.
Originally from Barcelona, but proud to have called Hamburg her home for the last ten years, Olaia is jumping this month into her new role at Glassworks. Her day-to-day work will involve managing the production team and maintaining an overview of all the running projects in Barcelona. As she herself explains, her focus will be on “cultivating creative opportunities and streamlining processes to bring out the best in the talented VFX team.” Also acting, when needed, as a hands-on VFX Producer.
During her time in Hamburg, Olaia worked at VFX companies Bigpoint and Infected, where she grew from her role as Producer to Head of Production and established a completely new pipeline and production workflow. Her list of clients includes top brands, such as Porsche, Mercedes and Volkswagen, and, among others, the full CG trailer for the Drakensang game. In addition to her rich VFX experience, Olaia’s eye for advertising and passion for film was nurtured during her earlier years as Account Director in agencies Ogilvy and DDB, where she produced and managed international and local campaigns, working in both Spain and South Africa. After landing back in Barcelona and working as Executive Producer at post-production company Eighty4, Olaia is now joining Glassworks as Head of Production.
