Straight from our Lab, comes the Doritos Crunch Cancellation software; the first software to eliminate in real time the annoying crunching sounds made by streamers eating during live sessions.
The software, fully developed by the Glassworks Special Projects division, filters the audio input by detecting and separating ‘talking’ sound waves from unwanted noise. All in less than 20 milliseconds of processing. To follow a time-efficient method, our team programmed the artificial intelligence app using the NVIDIA algorithm library as a base. It is our first time developing a software that works in real time with machine learning, and our first time applying it on audio instead of visuals; we are extremely proud of the result.
Created by agency TBWA\España for PepsiCo, the campaign capitalizes on Doritos being widely acclaimed as one of the preferred snacks of gamers and streamers. Placing the focus on the consumer, Doritos wanted to address the noise issue and digitally silence their characteristic crunch. The software was launched and tested live by renowned streamers Auronplay, Axozer, 8cho and Reborn on a Twitch gaming tournament, delivering excellent results.
Gamers and streamers can now happily crunch away during their stream without disturbing their audience. And good news: you can too!
